I’ve just finished the second card and came to share it!
These on the right are the original tea cups.
And below are the ones I made today. For some strange reason I forgot to take pictures of the third and fourth cups while I was making them, I’m a bit bewildered about it since I remember thinking about taking those pictures as I was making them :D
So here we go, this is the first one, behind it is the plate. It’s not painted yet but I had embossed its edges.
For the spoon I did an experiment, I embossed it using water, and look at it! Completely three dimensional! :)
I made some lavender twigs with a purple bow for the spoon.
And began cutting out the pattern for the second tea cup.
My daughter told me that it couldn’t be used to drink tea from after all the “holes” I had made on it, but I told her that we didn’t know if perhaps it was lined with glass on the inside ;)
Here are the first two cups stacked up.
And here should go the other two cups I somehow missed taking snaps of! o.O
So I’ll have to skip all the way to the fifth cup! Which here has the inside already painted.
And here it had the handle “on” for the shot. It’s a separate piece.
The blue botanical pattern reminded me so much of a “Nantucket Briar” box we used to have eleven years ago! It had bathing “milk” in it, it used to bubble up A LOT! And it was incredibly fragrant! Those were the good old days! :)
Here are all cups finally done :) All that’s left now is the card, and an envelope!

I hope you like it! If you have any suggestions of other kinds of cards I could make using teapots and tea cups I would love to hear them!
I have a couple ideas in mind but nothing in concrete yet.
One of them would be a big cup with a tea bag that could be pulled out and the message could be written on the tea bag. Maybe it could open like a little card. I’ll have to experiment a little bit with it to understand how it could work!
I’m so glad my kids have a school break and I get to work again!
My youngest just started kinder garden and
I’ve been quite busy adjusting to the new schedule and have missed writing in here!

Es maravillosa la forma en que interpretas la imagen de la foto, las diferentes técnicas conviven juntas tan armoniosas en esa torre… te pregunto de pura curiosidad… ¿que hará tu amiga con las tazas?
Otro comentario, al margen, un poco freak e ignorante también, que espero sepas disculpar:… escuchaba la música que pusiste mientras leía el post… y me asombró mucho al final ver que la voz no era de una doncella como creía sino de un bello varón… como puede tener una voz tan dulce y fina? es común eso?

¡Hola Alice! Muchas gracias por tu comentario, ¡no tenía idea de que estaba interpretando la imagen, pensaba que la estaba copiando, pero interpretando suena -y me hace sentir- mil veces mejor! :D
Mi amiga me pidió tarjetas para escribirles algo adentro y mandarlas por correo, la primera la quiere enmarcar, todavía no ha visto ésta última.
Acerca de la voz de Philippe Jaroussky pienso que es tan bella porque él es una bellísima persona -por dentro y por fuera- y que se vuelve evidente cuando canta. Ese tipo de voz es la equivalente a la de una soprano o alto en las mujeres pero cuando es un varón quien la posee se le llama contra tenor.
El ensamble con quienes canta en ese video se llama L'Arpeggiata y lo dirige Christina Pluhar, que es quien toca el instrumento con un brazo larguísimo que se llama Tiorba.
Hicieron un CD juntos llamado Teatro D'Amore que me encanta. También estuvieron en el festival d'Ambronay y son una maravilla y además divertidísimos. Me fascina Jaroussky, mira las primeras dos partes de éste video donde canta Cum dederit y un amén de Vivaldi. Haber "econtrado" a Jaroussky me ayudó a salir adelante en una época muy difícil, te aviso que es muy posible que también te quedes prendada de él :)

La voz de los contratenores es relativamente común, lo que no es común es que haya varones que quieran trabajarla.
En la Europa medieval fue muy apreciada, en Italia castraban a los niños antes de la pubertad para conservar su voz intacta, lamentablemente eso no garantizaba la calidad de sus voces.
En el siglo 17 los castrati eran como las estrellas de rock actuales :)
Busca una película que se llama "Farinelli il castrato" o "Farinelli", acá te dejo un video con un fragmento de ella la voz la hicieron mezclando dos voces, la de un contratenor y una soprano, te comento también que los contra tenores no son castrati, cantan siguiendo una técnica distinta. Tengo entendido que nunca vamos a poder escuchar en nuestras vidas a un verdadero castrati debido a que no había forma de grabarlos. Pero hay algunas grabaciones de Alessandro Moreschi de quien se dice que fue el último castrato. aunque fueron grabadas cuando él ya era muy mayor y no estaba en sus mejores tiempos.
